R&D DENTAL 3D PRINTING SPECIALIST WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW

ROLE DETAILS

Our client, a growing Italian company in professional 3D printing, is seeking an R&D Specialist to develop new materials and technologies using SLA 3D printing.

The role involves conducting test cycles, ensuring compliance with international standards for biocompatible dental products, and collaborating with the Quality, Materials, and Strategy teams. Responsibilities include operating 3D printers and scanners, analysing results, and proactively suggesting test methods and process improvements.

Candidates must have a degree in Physics or Materials Science, with a practical mindset, attention to detail, and familiarity with electromechanical devices.

Support of other materials research team members during projects in:

  • Writing work instructions and test protocols for quality control purposes,
  • Contributing to the development of quality test methods for production,
  • Hands-on surface testing using different methods (SEM/EDX /WLI/Contact angle),
  • Writing test protocols for external test laboratories,
  • Writing test reports based on surface testing and results analysing,

Additionally:

  • Assisting team members with handling different material research related tasks/ projects.
  • Supporting compliance activities related to Materials Research
  • Analysing surface measurement results including statistical analysis
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with SLA 3D printing (not mandatory but a plus)
  • Knowledge of photopolymer materials, particularly for biocompatible applications
  • Data analysis and reporting skills, to interpret test results and produce technical documentation
  • Familiarity with modeling and simulation software (e.g., CAD, FEM analysis software)
  • Experience with measurement and quality control tools, such as 3D scanners and inspection software (e.g., 3Shape)
  • Experience with hands-on testing of material surface is an advantage
  • Creates new and imaginative approaches to work-related issues. Identifies fresh approaches and shows a willingness to question traditional assumptions.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A degree in Physics or Materials Science is required
  • Previous experience in research laboratories or industrial R&D
  • Experience in biomedical or dental companies
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written), German is an asset
